About this Giving Opportunity
Over 90% of deaf children are born to hearing parents. Most of those parents don't know sign language and don't know anyone who is deaf, and they're learning as they go during the years when language develops most.That's what the American Society for Deaf Children does. Parents of deaf kids started it in 1967 and still run it. They offer online ASL classes, Deaf mentors, and ASL storybooks in English and Spanish.Already volunteering with ASDC? Log your hours in Inspire 365, including our 30-minute sessions, and consider directing your match credit here as well. Match credit doesn't roll over at year end, and if ASDC is where you spend your time, it's a natural place to spend it.
