As a fight against malaria -- the deadliest disease in Nigeria which kills over 200,000 people each year, The AHA Initiative works to reduce malaria mortality by ensuring that every low-income community in Nigeria has at least one primary healthcare center. Currently, only 20% of Nigerian communities have a functioning primary care hospital. Through AHA Initiative's community-level approach to healthcare, it has provided free primary healthcare services and treatment of malaria to over 8,500 people who make an average income of $30 per month. It is on track to open health centers in 3 more communities, reaching 20,000 more people by the end of 2024.
