For a college student with no meal plan and a tight budget, one reliable hot meal a week can make a real difference. $20,000 makes that real. It funds every free meal World Food Movement serves at one campus for an entire semester: roughly 2,500 hot, fresh, nutritious meals for students who need them most.
The same faces return week after week. They build a routine. They stop rationing. They stop skipping class when hunger wins. One student told us this program gives them "saving money, reducing stress, and giving me more time to focus on my studies."
Behind the numbers are real people:
First-generation students, many from immigrant families
Parents balancing classes, work, and kids
Young adults on the edge of the career they have worked toward for years
Silicon Valley is one of the wealthiest places on earth. Yet 48% of community college students here and across the country go hungry. Campus pantries hand out ingredients, but many students have no kitchen and no time. A bag of rice is not a meal. A hot lunch is.
Here is what we have done so far:
30K meals served in our first year
4,000+ students at 8 campuses including De Anza, Foothill, West Valley, and Chabot
92% rated the food 4 to 5 stars
93% found sign-up and pickup easy
Your sponsorship gives you:
A campus you can point to and say "we did that"
An end-of-semester impact report: meals served, students reached, satisfaction scores
The chance for your team to serve meals alongside us, face to face with the students you are helping (2 to 3 hours per session).
At about $8 per meal, every dollar becomes food in a student's hands. Sponsor the whole campus, or give any amount and help us reach the goal together.
Because no student should have to choose between lunch and learning.
