Illinoisans are increasingly feeling the effects of diabetes as an estimated 800,000 suffer from the disease and as many as 500,000 have diabetes and don't yet know it! If current trends continue, one out of every three children born after the year 2000 in the United States will be diagnosed with some form of diabetes in their lifetime.

That is why the American Diabetes Association's Springfield office is so committed to educating the public about how to stop diabetes and support those living with the disease.
