Here in Hawaii, nearly 600,000 people are living with prediabetes or diabetes, affecting 1 in 3 individuals: over 154,000 people with diabetes and an additional 442,000 with prediabetes. Diabetes is the 7th leading cause of death in Hawaii and nationwide.
