CodeYogi Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation in India, founded by IIT Delhi alumni. The org is headquartered in Dehradun, Uttarakhand and have it's operations in about 9 states of India. We equip India's unreached youth — students from low-income families in government schools who have never had access to a computer — with real, applied AI fluency, in their own language, on the phones their families already own.
The Problem
India has over 140 million students in government schools. Most lack basic amenities, and about 42% of schools lack even a single computer. Even the one's having computer doesn't mean students getting real tech exposure or guidance. Most students complete schooling without engaging meaningfully with the technology reshaping every industry. Traditional approaches — computer labs, teacher training, fellowship models — have failed to scale. Labs sit locked, machines break, trained CS teachers don't exist in the numbers needed, and online platforms assume English, computers, and prior digital comfort that these students don't have.
Meanwhile, the AI economy is being shaped right now. Students who gain AI fluency today will compound their advantage across every domain. Those who don't will be locked out of quality opportunities permanently.
Our Approach
We deliver a multi-tiered applied AI fluency programme entirely on smartphones, through a WhatsApp-based AI tutor. Over 30 days, students use real AI tools — ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, ElevenLabs — while also learning foundational principles of AI, across real problems of their actual lives: their studies, health, family needs, communication, creative expression, and problem-solving. Theory is folded into doing, never front-loaded.
All their work is AI evaluated, and each student get's a truly personalised feedback.
Our programme requires no computer labs, no teacher training, no curriculum integration, and no app download. A single WhatsApp link gets a student in.
We partner with state and district governments for access to schools; from there, the platform handles everything.
We also run a parallel Teacher Edition — not to train teachers to deliver our programme, but to give them their own AI fluency for their work and lives. Teachers who go through it become natural advocates, but advocacy is a bonus, not a dependency.
Track Record
About 375,000 students (as of Jun'26) are enrolled with us, with about 49% girls, from 9 states of India. While the program served both in school and outside school hours, 95% students engage with the program just on their family phones, proof that the model works.
Recognition and Partnerships
We were incubated at The Nudge Institute (Jun'25) and then further selected (Jun'26) for The Nudge Accelerator as well. We were also part of AWS Global Social Entrepreneurship Accelerator (Nov'25).
Team
Our team of 26 is itself a proof point: most engineers and operations members are products of CodeYogi's own programmes — discovered as standout learners, brought into the team, and now building the platform that reaches the next generation.
