From Chalkboards to Playfields: Transforming a Government School in India

Over deze Doneermogelijkheid

The government school in Phulia Kalan, a small village in Rajasthan, India, has been a vibrant center for education and sports. Over time, however, it saw a decline in infrastructure development, leaving it in urgent need of restoration. Crumbling walls leaked during rains, classrooms lacked basic amenities, and students had no option but to study under trees. Proper toilets, furniture, and essential learning resources needed urgent upgrading to ensure that students continued to grow in both academics and sports.

Notably, this school stands as a testament to resilience. Despite the challenges, it has produced 90 National-level and 783 State-level hockey players along with nurturing alumni who have become doctors, engineers, lawyers, and entrepreneurs.

With your support, we aim to revitalize this school, focusing equally on academic and sports development and empowering students to excel in classrooms and on playfields alike. By providing modern infrastructure, enhanced learning tools, and dedicated sports facilities, we envision raising future Kalams and Dhyan Chands, ensuring that the students of Phulia Kalan have the opportunity to shine in every arena.

A Vision for Change

To give back, Shri Kalyan Seva Sansthan is leading a transformation that will turn this school into a modern 90,000 sq. ft. campus, serving over 4,000 students per year. Once complete, the school’s academic and sports facilities will be at par with some of the best private schools in the country, with education still offered free.

The new campus will include:

• Smart classrooms with digital whiteboards to make learning engaging and effective.

• State of the art Science, Robotics and STEAM labs, and a library to spark curiosity and creativity.

• World-class sports facilities, including an Olympic-sized hockey AstroTurf field (first of its kind in Rajasthan) with space for 500 spectators along with a gymnasium, athletic tracks and volleyball courts.

• Workshops, career counseling, and sports coaching to prepare students for success.

For many of these children, this school is their only opportunity for a better future. This transformation will give them the support to dream big and achieve more.

Your contribution will help create a school that inspires generations to come! Let’s build a brighter future together!
