We are the Greenland Central School Robotics Program. Our lead coach is school STEM teacher Randy Weld.
Over the past four years, our program has featured a group of highly motivated middle schoolers and dedicated mentors to create a FIRST robotics program. FIRST robotics provides students the opportunity to learn and practice mechanical, programming, marketing, communication and business skills.
The program is still very much in a growth phase BUT with incredible passion and hard work we have gone from placing last place in our first season in 2022 to advancing not only to the New Hampshire State Championship Meet, but beyond to the New England Premier Event. Additionally, our teams have won multiple awards for outstanding outreach in their community. This past year, our program has grown to include 28 members on two teams and many of our school's younger students have expressed enthusiasm about joining the program in the future.
I am reaching out to you because the next phase of our growth requires significant resource acquisition. Our FIRST Tech Challenge league includes many high schools, including some of the state's top private schools. While many of these programs already have a robust budget, at this time, we unfortunately do not. We have set up a fundraising program to help provide these students the resources to meet their full potential. Any support you can provide is helpful and GREATLY appreciated. Our goal is to make this program free to students in order to make these valuable experiences accessible to ALL students. With your help, our students will gain experiences that prepare them to be the problem solvers of tomorrow.
