Full Project Description
Across India, thousands of stray and abandoned cows are left to survive on roadsides, garbage dumps, accident-prone highways, and unsafe urban areas. Many suffer from hunger, injury, untreated wounds, plastic ingestion, weakness, and neglect.

Shree Krishnayan Sewa Foundation is working to give these vulnerable animals a safe and dignified life. Through its gau-seva and rescue programs, Krishnayan shelters and cares for 35,000+ stray cows and bulls saved from extremely difficult conditions. These animals need daily fodder, clean water, safe shelter, veterinary treatment, emergency rescue support, and compassionate long-term care.

This project will help Krishnayan continue providing:
Daily nutrition and fodder-
Green fodder, wheat straw, jaggery, bran, mustard cake, mineral mixture, and other essential feed are required every day to keep the rescued cows healthy.

Safe shelter and protection
Many rescued cows are weak, elderly, disabled, blind, pregnant, or recovering from injury. They require secure sheds, flooring, water infrastructure, and protection from extreme heat, cold, rain, and road accidents.

Emergency medical care
Funds support treatment for injured cows, vaccinations, medicines, rescue-related care, emergency kits, health tonics, surgeries, plastic-removal treatment, and veterinary support.

Rescue and rehabilitation
Krishnayan’s team responds to cows found in critical condition, including accident cases, abandoned animals, and animals suffering from disease, injury, or starvation.

Every contribution helps restore dignity, safety, and compassion to animals who have already suffered deeply.

Key achievements include:
1) 150,000+ Gauvansh medicated and treated
2) 6,000+ operations/surgeries conducted for injured and critical animals
3) 45,000+ Gauvansh rescued from roads, accidents, abandonment, illness, and unsafe conditions
4) 10,000+ bulls and male calves sheltered, including animals often neglected or abandoned
5) 35,000+ stray, rescued Gauvansh presently sheltered and cared for 24×7 rescue operations through ambulance and trained response teams 24×7 doctors and care teams available for emergency treatment, monitoring, and recovery
6) Gaushalas across multiple states, helping expand protection beyond one location
7) No milk is sold-Krishnayan maintains a non-commercial approach where cows are not exploited for milk, and milk is distributed free for seva purposes.
8) No Gauvansh is tied, allowing rescued animals to live with dignity and comfort
9) Large open spaces and ventilated shelters, so animals are not kept in cramped or stressful conditions
10) Daily food, fodder, clean water, medical care, shelter, and lifelong protection for rescued cows, bulls, calves, disabled, blind, elderly, and injured Gauvansh
11) Crore of kilograms of fodder is arranged every month for these stary cows
