THE SAN JOSE PUBLIC LIBRARY FOUNDATION

The San José Public Library Foundation provides advocacy, financial support, and leadership to our public libraries and educational programs throughout San José to create an educated, equitable, and engaged community.

The San José Public Library Foundation raises private funds to support the programs, services, and resources of the San José Public Library system. Philanthropic donations supplement, but do not supplant, the City's responsibility to fund the Library. Community support has enabled new ideas, new initiatives, and new resources for the San José Public Library. For 30 years, the San José Public Library Foundation has raised external funding for wonderful Library programs, services, and resources such as expanding digital and print collections, providing online education, offering public access computers and instruction, and supporting literacy efforts from birth through adulthood, and much more.
