Girls Inc. LA
Help 3,000 LA girls explore STEAM, build new skills and discover future career pathways.
About this Giving Opportunity
Girls Inc. of Los Angeles empowers girls to tap into their strengths, discover their passions and build the confidence to pursue their goals. We serve 3,000 elementary, middle and high school students across twelve LAUSD schools in under-resourced communities in South Los Angeles, Watts and Venice.
Through our STEAM Learning & Career Exploration initiative, girls engage in hands-on experiences that build curiosity, creativity, problem-solving skills and confidence in science, technology, engineering, arts and math. Project-based activities introduce students to new concepts and real-world applications while helping them see themselves in fields where women, and women of color in particular, remain underrepresented.
Learning extends beyond the classroom through career workshops, field trips and conversations with women professionals across industries. These experiences help girls discover new career pathways and connect what they are learning today with possibilities for their futures.
Your gift helps provide hands-on STEAM activities and materials, trained instructors, career workshops, field trips and transportation and other experiences that help girls explore, create, build new skills and imagine themselves as the scientists, engineers, artists, entrepreneurs and leaders of the future.
