Gauraksha (Cow Protection) / Gaushala - Krishnayan

Protect, feed and shelter ailing, starving, destitute or stray Desi Cows and bulls

About this Giving Opportunity

Cows are revered and worshipped by millions of people all over the world. In particular, in Hinduism and many other religions, the mother is elevated to the status of goddess. As a result, the cow is revered as a sacred animal because it provides us with life-sustaining milk. The cow is regarded as a maternal figure, a provider for her people. The cow represents the divine bounty of the earth.

Everyone is aware of the benefits of cow milk, but cow urine and cow dung are equally valuable, which is why in Hinduism, both are considered very sacred and are used in all religious ceremonies.

Feeding a cow before eating breakfast is considered highly auspicious.

However, once the cows are milk barren or ailing, their owners or caregivers around the world disown or abandon them.

Shree Krishnayan Gauraksha Shala, located in Haridwar, Uttarakhand, is on a mission to shelter and protect all destitute abandoned desi cows; to raise awareness of the utility of native Indian cows; to raise awareness of the magical medicinal qualities of cow dung, gaumutra (cow urine), and milk; and to make the environment safe and healthy.

This Gauraksha Shala has locations throughout India, including Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, and Madhya Pradesh.

This Gauraksha Shala (Cow Protection and Shelter Home) is not just a Gaushala (Cow Shelter Home) but they make every effort to save the cows from butchers and to meet the health needs of each cow.

The Saints own and manage the Gauraksha Shala. Over 18,000 cows are cared for by hundreds of Gau-sewaks (volunteers) who work around the clock. The shala does not exploit these cows for milk but instead gives it to saints, gau-sewaks, and ashrams for free.

This shala is registered with the Government of India's "Animal Welfare Board of India" as well as several other animal welfare boards located throughout India.

This Gauraksha shala is primarily supported by contributions and donations from people all over the world.

People contribute to a variety of activities and occasions, such as rites (pooja/vidhi) in memory of deceased ancestors, birthday and anniversary celebrations, and fodder donations.

People do contribute through one-time or recurring online payments.

The Gauraksha will welcome everyone to come and enjoy the natural and pollution-free atmosphere of Gauraksha shala, which is surrounded by thousands of cows and saints.

We are about to enter the festive season, which includes Diwali, Christmas, and New Year's celebrations in various parts of the world.

Let us celebrate the festivals by making a small contribution to this noble cause of protecting and nurturing mother cows when they are in need.

Thank you very much!
